Are courses online – and can I catch up on missed lessons?

At MEDTIP Academy, all courses run live and synchronously via Zoom. If you miss a live session or want to review content, every recording is available anytime through your MEDTIP Academy student portal. A key benefit: access does not end when you finish the course – you keep permanent access to all recordings after graduation.

What materials are used – are there additional learning resources?

We use internationally recognised Hueber Verlag resources in our teaching. The course book and workbook for your enrolled course are assigned digitally in your account. You also receive pre-lesson preparation videos and end-of-lesson quizzes for self-assessment – all designed to support lasting learning.

How long does a language course (e.g. A1 or B2) take and how is it structured?

We use an intensive model so you progress quickly: each course includes 24 live sessions – one textbook unit is completed per session. The active learning phase lasts 8 weeks. After week 4 there is a one-week break for review and recovery. Including public holidays, you typically complete a course within 2 to 2.5 months.

I already know some German – do I have to start from scratch? Can I try a lesson?

No, you do not have to start from zero. Before enrolment, our expert team conducts a personal level assessment and places you in the right group. You can also experience MEDTIP Academy with no obligation: your first lesson is free – so you can see how we teach before you decide.

What language level do I need for professional German courses?

Accepted Answer

To get the most from our professional German courses, we recommend a solid language foundation: at least B1 for nurses and physiotherapists, and at least B2 (or close to completing B2) for doctors in conversation and case-based courses.

How are professional German courses structured and how do sessions work?

Accepted Answer

Our professional German courses are fully case-based and practice-focused. For doctors and nurses we use Hueber's „Menschen im Beruf: Medizin“ and „Menschen im Beruf: Pflege“ – with real dialogues and terminology from clinical settings. For physiotherapists we developed our own 12-session curriculum: each week we work through a different clinical case live (e.g. scoliosis, Achilles tendon rupture) and train the reflexes you need in daily professional practice in Germany.

Do these courses prepare you for an exam – or are they practice-focused?

Our goal is not to push you into theoretical exams, but to prepare you to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues, patients and relatives in Germany – and to understand and apply professional German in practice.

How large are the groups – will I get enough speaking time?

Interactive learning is central to our approach. We keep groups deliberately small – usually 10 to 12 participants, with a maximum of 12. That gives you direct contact with your teacher, room to ask questions and plenty of speaking practice.

What do MEDTIP Academy courses cost?

We keep pricing transparent and fair. Current course fees: A1 general German €300, A2 €300, B1 €399, B2 €399. Professional language and conversation courses (doctor, nursing, physiotherapy): €250 per programme. See each course page for dates and full details before booking.

What do I need for live sessions – are there technical requirements?

Taking part is straightforward. We recommend a laptop or tablet so you can follow digital books and screen sharing comfortably (a smartphone works in a pinch). For speaking practice you need a working microphone and headphones for clear audio. A stable internet connection avoids video interruptions. At lesson time, log into your MEDTIP Academy student portal and click the Zoom link for that session.

How can I pay – in which currency?

MEDTIP Academy is a Germany-based company – all payments are accepted in euros (€) only. We do not offer payments in TRY or fixed exchange rates. You can pay by bank transfer (domestic or international) to our euro account, or conveniently by credit or debit card through our secure online payment platform (Stripe Checkout). Your card must be enabled for international online payments.
